Media Stereotypes

Basic Explanation On Media Stereotypes

Media stereotypes are usually use in advertising, entertainment and news industries. It works as medium that gives the audiences a quick understanding of a person or a group of people usually relating gender, race, ethnic and many more

The Other Media Stereotypes You Have Seen in TV or Movies

The other media stereotypes that I have seen in the tv or movies is the stereotypes that related to gender. Most of the movies I have seen extensively used girls as a weak and harmless subject that always get into trouble and need to be save, especially in the heroic type of movies. This kind of stereotypes can be common to us but not to the minority of women who really thought that they can take care of themselves. This will create a conflict between men and women. This group of women look men as a colony that likes to control women, thus they prefer to spend more time with their own kind and at some stage they started to develop a serious relationship.

Classification of people also commonly used as stereotype in movies. In movies the upper class people always labeled as cruel and evil while the lower class people are the people who suffer from the evil doing of the upper class people. This type of stereotype practically used in movies to create self consciousness among the people about how the lower class people are treated by the upper class people, but sometimes this stereotype can be uncomfortable to the person who think they have a similar characteristic with the characters in the movies.
